Gobe!!! Olamide may Spend 10 years in jail for alleged Homosexuality


Since President Goodluck Jonathan signed the new anti-gay act into law, there have been reactions from both within and outside Nigeria.
While some have thrown their weights behind it, others have continued to criticise it, claiming the President should be more interested in other pressing issues than homosexuality, which the Western world has already embraced.
According to the act, anyone involved in homosexual risks 10 to 14 years jail term.
The public show of same sex amorous relationship directly or indirectly is prohibited,” the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act, 2013 stated in Section 4, subsection 2.
Also, the same act stated in Section 5, subsection 2 that, "A person who registers, operates or participate in gay clubs, societies and organisation, or directly or indirectly makes public show of same sex amorous relationship in Nigeria commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a term of 10 years imprisonment.

MERELY coming short of ‎outright mention of the names of the latest victim of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Lagos State, the state government Tuesday gave an insight into the identity of the victim, who is currently receiving treatments at undisclosed hospital in Lagos.
   The victim, according to the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, is female medical doctor. He was, however, silent on if she was the doctor treating the Liberian victim who died in Lagos.

Ebola: Jim Iyke apologises for controversial tweet



Nollywood actor, James Ikechukwu Okolue, popularly known as Jim Iyke, on Wednesday apologised over a controversial twitter post of himself wearing a mask while exiting Monrovia Airport, Liberia, amid the Ebola outbreak.
According to the post, Iyke had fled the country, cutting short his business trip over fears of contracting the disease.
He said that his comments were based on fear and were taken out of context, adding “the last thing I wanted to do was to alarm anyone.

Man,63, slumps, dies at bear parlour

ABEOKUTA-Tragedy struck on Tuesday at a beer parlour in Odeogun Quarters area of Idi Iroko, Ogun State when a-63-year old man, Izora Michael, slumped and died shortly before drinking a bottle of beer .

It was gathered that Michael had barely bought the unnamed beer when he suddenly slumped.

An eyewitness disclosed that immediately after Michael slumped he was rushed to a nearby clinic, where he was later confirmed dead.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the incident added that Police detectives had visited the scene of the incident.

Adejobi, who said the police did not suspect any foul play, stated that Michael’s corpse had been released to his family who also rejected any post mortem on their relation for burial.

 President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed delight at the performance of Team Nigeria at the just concluded Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, and promised to meet with the contingent in Abuja upon his return from the ongoing US-Africa summit in Washington DC.

Fast Rising Artist Bbee Dies



 The Delta State born singer, who was only 30 years old,  died days after she returned from a trip to the US.
A graduate of Lagos State University, Blessing  pursued her love for music, singing as backup singer with great Nigerian artistes such as Onyeka Onwenu, Sammy Okposo, and Stella Damasus.
Bbee left for the USA to complete her latest single titled “Tif My Heart”. The release was abruptly pushed forward due to Bbee’s ill-health.
May her soul rest in peace.

Pastor Adeboye Announces Major Changes At Redeem Christian Church Of God




 Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG on Monday announced some changes in the church hierarchy with the retirement of two members of the church council who attained the retirement age stipulated in the church constitution; Goldmyne reported.

Pastor Segun Adegbiji, head of Media and Public Relations, gave the names of the two retired pastors as; Pastor Oluwalogbon and Pastor C.O. Osho. Replacing the retirees are Pastor Johnson Funso Odesola who had served the church for 40 years and Pastor Remi Akintunde following 38 years.

Bitter Kola As Ebola Cure: Medical Groups Refute Iwu's Claims




Two major medical groups in Nigeria have refuted claims by former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Maurice Iwu, that he has a cure for the Ebola virus ravaging parts of West Africa.
A day after President Goodluck Jonathan included Mr. Iwu, a former professor of pharmacognosy, on a panel to lead Nigeria’s fight against the deadly and incurable disease, the groups of medical professionals debunked the former INEC chairman’s claim that kola nut or bitter kola could provide antidotes for the Ebola virus.

Sain Mumtaz has has the biggest head in the world according to the Guinness Book Of World Records.– but what is causing its extreme growth and how Sain might be treated is a total mystery. 
Mumtaz is terribly disfigured and lives around 100km from the Pakistani city of Lahore on the road to the town of Narowal. 
Sain was told as a child that he suffered from Proteus syndrome the same condition as Joseph Merrick, the original Elephant Man.
