Pastor Adeboye Announces Major Changes At Redeem Christian Church Of God
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG on Monday announced some changes in the church hierarchy with the retirement of two members of the church council who attained the retirement age stipulated in the church constitution; Goldmyne reported.
Pastor Segun Adegbiji, head of Media and Public Relations, gave the names of the two retired pastors as; Pastor Oluwalogbon and Pastor C.O. Osho. Replacing the retirees are Pastor Johnson Funso Odesola who had served the church for 40 years and Pastor Remi Akintunde following 38 years.
According to the statement, the church Governing Council, the highest organ of the church is made up of 18 members with Pastor Adeboye as chairman. Other members now include Pastors Kuo, Ezekiel Odeyemu, Elijah Daramola, Gbadebo Lawal, Joseph Obayemi, Johnson Odesola and Remi Obayemi.
Adeboye's special assistants were also increased from 12 to 19. Adeboye also announced the constitution of a World Advisory Council which is expected to meet every December to give proposal for the consideration of the Governing Council.
New deacons and deaconesses were also announced.
